Pottery Club is here!
What is Pottery Club? Let me explain...
Pottery club is for the already initiated. It is for people who have either done a 6 week course here at the studio or have prior experience of pottery and wish to work on their skills further.
Your time in the studio will be unassisted, and untaught which is why it needs to be for people who understand pottery and the equipment. You will manage your own clay, items, and glazing. While I will put the items in the kiln for you, you need to ensure that they are ready to go in before I do to prevent any explosions, or breakages. Please be away your items will be fired with other pottery club members work, so you need to ensure things will not explode and damage other peoples work.
For your Monthly fee, you will have access to the studio between 7:00am and 9:00pm Monday - Sunday to work as you wish, your own drying shelves and storage shelves, you will have access to all the tools in the studio, including the three wheels and some of the studio glazes. You will also receive 12.5 KG of clay each month and space to fire on one shelf in the kiln. (there is a calendar booking systems so you know when they are free and how to book on)
There will be occasional times that we have public workshops or events happeningin the studio space but you will be given prior notice of these via the studio calendar should you wish not use the space while they are on, and there will be a limit on these.
Please note, if you do not have experience working on a wheel, you will not be able to use them, without first booking 1:1 sessions with myself to ensure you understand the basics as the risk of damage to the wheels, or that items made on the wheel will not survive the kiln is too high for a community studio.
If you have any questions please contact me and I can go through everything with you and show you around the studio.
